Charity Knitting
Throughout the year, much knitting is done on a voluntary basis for charities. Guild members and the Busy Fingers group have proven to be very generous with their donated items to seniors, cancer patients, newborn and premature infants and others in need.
Completed items are brought to the meetings where they are distributed to an appropriate agency.
The following groups have been recipients of the guild members hard work and generosity:
-
Louise Dean School
-
Bethany Care Society
-
Inn from the Cold ,the Mustard Seed, the Calgary Drop-In Centre
-
Wings of Hope
-
others as requested by our members.
The items most often requested are hats, mittens, scarves and slippers. Patterns are available in our Newsletters and Monthly Minutes or choose any pattern you enjoy knitting
Items for Wings of Hope require specific yarns. Email gillihookknitters@gmail.com to request the list.
